NEW COMPETITION RULES AND GUIDELINES 2008

Driver/Pit Information

1. Short track drivers must join Arcadia Motorsports to reserve driver number for 2008 $15.00
2. Drivers, mechanics etc. must sign insurance release form and also must attend drivers meeting.
3. NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 ALLOWED IN THE PITS. PICTURE ID WITH DATE OF BIRTH WILL BE REQUESTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
4. Drivers must be 16 years old to compete. Everyone under the age of 18 MUST have a parent present to sign waiver.
5. DRIVERS MUST KEEP EYE PROTECTION ON AT ALL TIMES WHILE COMPETING.
6. CARS MUST BE PREPARED BEFORE THEY ARRIVE FOR EACH EVENT.
7. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN PIT AREAS!!! ANYONE FOUND IN PITS WITH AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE WILL LOSE THEIR PIT PASS AND IF A DRIVER IS CAUGHT HE/SHE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED WITH NO REFUND.

DEMOLITION DERBY RULES

EVENT RULES

1. NO INTENTIONAL HITTING IN THE DRIVERS DOOR.
2. Stay in car at all times.
3. Keep your helmet, eye protection and seat belts on at all times.
4. Car must hit an actively competing car every 60 seconds. If you can not aggressively hit or be competitive or are sandbagging you will be eliminated.
5. No waiving off, if you waive off then the derby will stop. Officials will assume you are injured at which time you will be removed from the car and then be scored last in the heat or feature.
6. Any language or physical conduct that may be offensive to the spectators or other competitors will result in disqualification.
7. ALL DECISIONS MADE BY THE REFEREE ARE FINAL

DERBY CAR CLASSES BY WHEELBASE
COMPACT 105" & UNDER / FULL SIZE 106" & LARGER

STOCK FULL SIZE & STOCK COMPACT Demo Car Requirements
STOCK MEANS STOCK

1. Open to all size vehicles, trucks included
2. NEW: Drivers and passenger door protection is Mandatory for all DEMO DERBY classes. Door must have a 6"X 2"X 1/4" Steel Channel MIN. bolted in the center of the door and must be securely fastened to the "A" and "B" post as well as the door. Steel must be a minimum length to extend at least 6" past the "A" and "B" post. Length may be longer but must be securely fastened. Guard rail is permitted; ends must be capped, no sharp edges.
3. MUST HAVE 18" SQUARE NUMBER PLATE ON TOP OF CAR, WITH NUMBER ON BOTH SIDES / WHITE BACKGROUND WITH RED NUMBER
4. No trucks ovfer 1/2ton, 4x4s, Jeeps, Chrysler Imperials, vans etc.
5. No trailer hitches, lift kits or rear seats.
6. No reinforcements to the frame. Example no plating frame etc.
7. No glass (headlights, brake or marker lights etc.).
8. Windshields are optional; if removed car must have a heavy type screen on driver's side. No hood or trunk lid springs.
9. No sun roofs. (Sun roof must be covered with sheet metal)
10. Approved seat belts and helmets required.
11. Fuel tanks permitted (Max 5 gals.) if original tank is not used it must be removed. If fuel tank is moved it must be anchored securely: No rope or wire.
12. All doors must be chained shut through the door, welded or not. 5/16 chain minimum size.
13. Bumpers are required front and rear and may be chained in place but must have 1 link of slack, No cutting or narrowing allowed.
14. Suspension must be stock and functional
15. Cars must have hoods, trunk lids and doors.
16. If car is equipped with air bag, the center of the steering wheel must be removed and wrapped with tape or padding.
17. All trim, side moldings etc. must be removed
18. All batteries must be secured no wire, rope etc.
19. Car body must have matching frame.
20. Pump gas only to run cars.
21. A pipe, chain or tie down may be used only on the "B" post behind driver's seat for driver protection only. Must be centered on "B" post.
22. Holes in firewall can not be larger than 6" in diameter
23. No skid loaders or construction type equipment in pit area
24. No remote fluids allowed in driver area. Must be in front of fire wall under hood.
25. Only use Water in Radiator NO ANTI - FREEZE
26. Car must sit reasonably level with a max bumper height of 22" and bumpers will be located in stock position.
27. Remove plastic and vinyl bumper covers
28. Automotive tires only no construction or Ag type tires No foam filled tires
29. No profanity or offensive language on car.
30. DRIVERS SIDE DOOR MUST BE PAINTED ORANGE or opposite color.
31. 18" NUMBERS ONLY ON DOORS FOR SCORING , 3 NUMBERS MAX
32. ALL CARS SUBJECT TO RANDOM RE-INSPECTION AT ANY TIME.
33. ALL DECISIONS BY THE REFEREE ARE FINAL NO EXCEPTIONS!

SHORT TRACK CAR RACING
DERBY STYLE CIRCLE TRACK RACING

Classes

1. Compact class 105" and under wheel base no 4x4s or AWD veh.
2. Full size class 106" and above wheel base uni-body frame only. No 4x4s or AWD vehicles.
3. NEW HEAVY WEIGHT CLASS OPEN TO ALL VEHICLES 1 TON OR LESS 2 AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE - NO DUALLYS

Car/Safety Requirements

1. NEW: Drivers and passenger door protection is Mandatory for all short track classes. Door must have a 6"X 2"X 1/4" Steel Channel MIN. bolted in the center of the door and must be securely fastened to the "A" and "B" post as well as the door. Steel must be a minimum length to extend at least 6" past the "A" and "B" post. Length may be longer but must be securely fastened. No passenger, no protection on that side of car. Guard rail is permitted; ends must be capped, no sharp edges.
2. Drivers door must be painted orange or opposite color from rest of car
3. Must have 18" square number plate on top of car, may fold roof up behind front seat, White background with assigned driver number.
4. Must have Drivers number on both doors 18".
5. Drivers door window area must be covered with a race approved window net.(Summit Racing , Jegs ETC.) Passenger must have same type net NO SNOW FENCE ETC. Welded expanded steel allowed or homemade nets etc.
6. Placement of fuel tank in car requires interior to be removed. Interior of car may remain in car if fuel tank is in factory location.
7. Vehicles must have windshield or full screen
8. Doors must be chained shut through door skin and around the B or C post. Chain must be 5/16 or heavier no animal chain etc.
9. Remove all trim, moldings, -plastic etc. on outside of car
10. OEM bumpers must be used
11. NO reinforcement of any kind no welding allowed to any part of car including bumper shocks etc.  Welded rears ok.
12. Must have seat belt and helmet and eye protection
13. Airbag must be removed from steering wheel and re-padded.
14. Automotive tires only, no construction or Ag type tires
15. 4x4 vehicles permitted, must race in Heavy Weight Class.
16. All vinyl or plastic bumper covers must be removed
17. $40 to sign up car

SEPTEMBER 27 MODIFIED DERBY
FULL SIZE 106" & LARGER

DERBY MODIFIED FULL SIZE Demo Car Requirements

1. Open to all size vehicles, trucks included

Guard rail is permitted; ends must be capped, no sharp edges.
4. No mechanical fans, electric fans are permitted.
5. No trucks over 1/2ton, 4x4s, Jeeps, Chrysler Imperials, vans etc.
6. No trailer hitches, lift kits or rear seats.
7. No reinforcements to the frame. Example no plating frame etc.
8. No glass (headlights, brake or marker lights etc.).

10. No carpet or sun roofs. (Sun roof must be cover with sheet metal)

12. Fuel tanks permitted (Max 5 gals.) if original tank is not used it must be removed. If fuel tank is moved it must be anchored securely: No rope or wire.
13. All doors must be chained shut through the door skin, welded or not. 5/16 chain minimum size.

15. Leaf springs may be used to replace a rear coil spring suspension in a car.
16. Cars must have hoods, trunk lids and doors.
17. Hoods and truck lids may be bolted or strapped down. Max 4 bolts or straps on hood and 4 bolts or straps on trunk lid.
18. Body may be bolted directly to the frame but must use factory OEM holes no extra bolts.
19. Any and all body seems can be welded.
20. Inside of drivers door can have original panel or foam however door handle and window crank assembles must be completely removed.
21. If car is equipped with air bag the center of the steering wheel must be removed and wrapped with tape or padding.
